Humanism and the Founding Fathers of the United States

HALA's October meeting will feature a presentation by Antony (Tony) Martin, a lifelong resident of Detroit, Michigan, and a graduate of Siena Heights University in Adrian, MI. He also did graduate work in educational technology at the University of Michigan. He and his wife now reside in the city of Plymouth.

His presentation will focus on Humanism as understood or perhaps even practiced by prominent individuals counted among the founding fathers of America. These include the philosophy and world view of Thomas Jefferson, third President of the U.S., as well as Thomas Paine, author of the book The Age of Reason and the influential pamphlet Common Sense.

All are welcome! Please enter from the back of the building by the parking lot. Hope to see you all there!
