Pride Parade

Come and march with us in the Pride Parade! As usual, the Humanist Association will have a place in the parade, but this year will be a little different. This year, one of our board members (Sherry) will be getting married on our Humanist float! There will be a flatbed trailer where Andre, our Humanist Officiant, will be marrying the couple, and we will all be walking behind, watching the ceremony and celebrating during the dance party that follows.
The parade starts at 12:30 so don’t be late (we have no control over when we leave and we can’t wait for anyone). It’s best to plan to be there by 11:30-12:00 so that you can plan for traffic delays, parking, and finding the location. If you want to help decorate, you are welcome to join us in the parking lot.
The Pride Parade formation will take place in the Western Fair District parking lot. You should avoid parade route roads when travelling to the Western Fair District, as they close off the parade route early in the morning. All personal vehicles will be asked to park at the Western Fair Farmers’ Market at the corner of Dundas Street & Ontario Street to allow room for the parade formation.
The parade will travel north on Ontario Street to Queen’s Ave; West on Queen’s Ave to Wellington Street; and North on Wellington Street to Wolfe Street. The parade will disperse at Victoria Park where the annual Pride Closing Speeches will take place.
Walking distance: approximately 2.8 kilometres
